Directions
South West Detention Centre is situated in a rural area southeast of Windsor, Ontario. It is approximately 3 km south of Windsor International Airport. Public transit options to the South West Detention Centre are limited.
Visiting Details
Visits are by appointment only and must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. All visits are video visits with some exceptions for glass visits when they have been approved. Glass visits allow the incarcerated person to meet with their visitor behind glass rather than on video. Not all individuals will be eligible for glass visits. There is a big space in the lobby with video stations. Visitors arrive and check in with the main desk and then have their visit using one of the video stations.
Security
Visitors are vetted through a security process and have to provide pertinent information including name, address, phone number etc. Visitors must be approved to be on a visitors list prior to the visit.
