Visiting Details
You must be an approved contact before you can visit an incarcerated person at Millhaven. The incarcerated person must provide the name and contact information of a potential visitor to the parole officer and they must establish that there is a relationship between them and the visitor before coming, whether it is a friend, family member or a person they have been writing to while in the institution. Potential visitors have to fill out a visitation form and a CPIC clearance form. The visitor application involves a photocopy of ID front and back and passport-style photos that should be mailed to visits and correspondence at the institution. They will give the applicant a call to verify the information is correct. Once that is approved you can call the institution and book an appointment or email the institution to arrange an appointment. You need 48 hours notice to book a visit. The visiting days and hours vary depending on the range people are on so call ahead to find out when a visit is possible.
Security
All visitors are required to go through a scanner. Belongings are not allowed in the visiting area so other than necessary ID, you will be required to leave purses, phones and other belongings in the car or in a provided locker. There are dogs that perform sniff searches of visitors and are trained to sit if they identify something.
Other Information
There are video visits and face-to-face visits available but their availability depends on the individual. Certain incarcerated people may not be eligible for face-to-face visits.
